Solar Plant Performance Analytics That Find Lost Generation

Turn the data your inverters and SCADA already collect into clear answers: where your plant is losing energy, why, and what to fix first.

Already upload 3 months of generation data? We'll send back a plant-level loss breakdown at no cost.

Overview

Solar Plant Performance Analysis Built on Your Existing Data

Most solar plants already have monitoring. Inverter portals show daily kWh, SCADA dashboards show alarms, and O&M teams file monthly reports. What is usually missing is the step from "generation is down" to "this is the cause, and this is what it costs."

Ellvero builds custom machine learning models for solar plant performance analysis. We combine your generation data with irradiance, temperature and plant design to work out what each plant, inverter and string should have produced. Then we explain the gap. You get a ranked list of losses in kWh and rupees, not another dashboard to babysit.

Performance ratio

Performance Ratio Benchmarking

Performance ratio (PR) is the standard measure of how well a plant turns available sunlight into delivered energy. A raw PR number on its own doesn't tell you much. It moves with season, temperature and irradiance-sensor quality.

Temperature-corrected PR

So summer and winter months can be compared fairly.

Expected vs actual generation

Per day, per inverter and per block.

Benchmarking across sites

Useful for portfolio owners and O&M firms managing many plants.

Sensor health checks

Flag drifting or dirty pyranometers before they distort your solar plant performance ratio calculation.

Soiling

Soiling Loss and Cleaning Optimisation

Dust is a major, recurring loss for plants in Gujarat and much of India. Cleaning on a fixed calendar either wastes water and labour or leaves energy on the table.

Soiling loss estimates

Worked out from generation patterns, with no soiling station required. One can be added if you have it.

Cleaning schedule recommendations

Weigh the cost of a cleaning cycle against the value of recovered kWh.

Before/after verification

Check that each cleaning actually recovered the expected generation.

Rain and season awareness

So you don’t pay for a cleaning just before the monsoon does it free.

Equipment

Inverter and String Underperformance

Small faults hide inside large plants. One weak string or a derating inverter rarely triggers an alarm, but it quietly costs generation every day.

Inverter underperformance detection

Clipping, derating, frequent trips, and efficiency drift over time.

String-level anomaly detection

Where string current data is available: mismatch, shading, bypass diode or connector issues.

Recurring-fault patterns

So the O&M team fixes root causes, not the same symptom every month.

Prioritised work orders

Ranked by energy lost so field teams go where it matters most.

Reporting

Monthly Solar Plant Performance Reports

Reports should be read, not filed. Each month you get a clear solar plant performance report for owners, finance and O&M teams.

  • Plain-language summary: Generation, PR, availability and the top losses.
  • Loss waterfall: Irradiance, temperature, soiling, inverter, string, grid and unexplained losses.
  • Action list: Estimated recoverable energy for each item.
  • Optional live dashboard: A solar plant performance dashboard for teams that want daily visibility.

Data

Works with Any Inverter Portal or SCADA, No New Hardware

We start with the data you already have. In most plants that is enough.

Inverter portals and cloud APIs

From mixed brands in the same plant.

SCADA and data loggers

Through exports, databases or APIs.

Meters and weather stations

Plus satellite irradiance where on-site sensors are missing or unreliable.

CSV and Excel exports

If that’s all that’s available today.

If a site has no usable data, we work with trusted sensor and metering partners to fill the gap. You don't need to rip and replace anything.

Our Process

How It Works: From Data to Pilot to Production

A proven, low-risk process that shows value before any long-term commitment.

01

Data Assessment

Share 3–12 months of generation, inverter and weather data. We check quality and coverage.

02

Baseline Model

We build an expected-generation model for your plant and measure current losses.

03

Loss Report

You get a ranked list of losses with estimated kWh and rupee impact.

04

Pilot

We run monthly analytics and alerts on one plant or a few sites for an agreed period.

05

Scale

We roll out across your portfolio, integrated with your O&M workflow and reporting.

Audience

Who It's For

Plant Owners and Factories with Rooftop or Open-Access Solar

Commercial and industrial users in textiles, ceramics, chemicals, pharma and engineering who want proof their solar investment is delivering. They also want to know whether their O&M contractor is keeping it that way.

Solar EPC and O&M Companies (White-Label)

Add performance analytics to your O&M service under your own brand. Use it to show clients measurable value, win renewals and manage more megawatts with the same team. See our AI solar monitoring and fault detection service and partner program.

Independent Power Producers and Portfolio Owners

Compare plants on a fair, corrected basis and focus capital and O&M effort where the losses are largest. Pair it with solar generation forecasting for scheduling and deviation management.

Outcomes

Results and ROI

Every plant is different, so we measure ROI on your own data during the pilot rather than promise generic percentages.

Recovered generation

[client result: kWh / % recovered after pilot]

Cleaning cost optimisation

[client result: cleaning cycles avoided or re-timed]

Faults found

[client result: number of underperforming inverters/strings identified]

O&M efficiency

[client result: reduction in time to detect and resolve faults]

Results will be published as case studies with client approval.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about solar plant performance ratio, hardware, data and white-label analytics.

What is a good performance ratio for a solar plant?

It depends on climate, module technology, design and how PR is calculated. Instead of a single target, we compare your plant against its own expected performance under actual conditions, and against similar plants, using temperature-corrected PR.

Do we need to install new sensors or hardware?

Usually not. We work with your existing inverter portals, SCADA, meters and data loggers, and can use satellite irradiance data. If a site has no usable data, we work with sensor partners.

Which inverter brands and monitoring systems do you support?

We are brand-agnostic. We can work with portal or cloud APIs, SCADA databases, and CSV/Excel exports, including plants with mixed inverter brands.

How much data do you need to start?

Three months of generation data is enough for an initial loss report. Twelve months gives a better seasonal baseline.

Can EPC and O&M companies offer this under their own brand?

Yes. We offer white-label analytics and reports for EPC and O&M partners. See our partnership page for models.

Who owns the data and the reports?

You do. Your data is used only to deliver analytics for your plants, under an agreed data-use and confidentiality arrangement.
